Aigle

Aigle was founded in 1853 by American entrepreneur Hiram Hutchinson, who acquired the patent for vulcanization, a process that makes rubber more durable and waterproof. The company, named “A L’Aigle” after the American Eagle, began by producing waterproof rubber city shoes and later expanded into sports and outdoor footwear in the 1930s.
